Schraders released on bond

Jasper County Sheriff's investigators said they had removed half a dozen 24-foot or 28-foot trailers full of items, they believed to be stolen property, from an auto salvage yard west of Carthage.

In the meantime, Sheriff's Spokeswoman Brandi Richardson said the owners of Schrader's Towing and Salvage, 2350 W. Old 66 Blvd. had been released on bond after being charged with receiving stolen property.

Richardson said Robby Schrader, 29, was released on $20,000 bond on the Jasper County charge and $5,000 bond on a hold from the city of Carthage. The other three, Dorothy Schrader, 53; Eddie Schrader, 27; and Bobbi Schrader, 31, were all released on $25,000 bond on the county charge and $5,000 for the city charge.

Richardson said all four were charged with one count of receiving stolen property, while Eddie Schrader was charged with an additional count of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute.

Jasper County Sheriff's Lt. Ron Thomas said deputies were still on the scene at Schrader's Towing and Salvage more than three days after first raiding the business at 9:45 a.m. on Monday.

The raid was conducted in conjunction with the Carthage Police Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol and Missouri Department of Revenue.

"Upon serving the warrants, several items were located and confirmed as having been stolen out of Jasper County, the city of Carthage, and Webb City," the sheriff's office said. "As the investigation has progressed, there have been numerous other items located which have been stolen throughout the region. A large quantity of marijuana was also located inside one of the residences."

Richardson said the recovered items included a wide array of cars, trucks motorcycles and other vehicles, flat-screen televisions and other items.

"We have to look further into how the property was obtained," Richardson said. "We have collected most of the property we believe to be stolen, but we'll probably be there at least through today. Then we have to try to put the items in some kind of order. Other agencies have already been contacted and they will be coming to look at the property and identify items stolen from their areas."
